CONFIDENTIAL PROJECT - TECHNICAL IMAGERY OMITTED
This project was completed under a non-disclosure agreement. Portfolio content is limited to nonproprietary descriptions of my engineering responsibilities and methods.
Elveo Mobile is a satellite communications company developing direct-to-device (D2D) connectivity between satellites and standard mobile devices. Lynk Global merged with Omnispace in August 2026 to form Elveo Mobile.
As Elveo transitioned to its next generation of spacecraft, I was independently responsible for redesigning ground support equipment (GSE) used to determine spacecraft mass and center-of-gravity properties.
The project focused on improving measurement accuracy, adding previously unavailable Z-axis center-of-gravity measurement capability, and adapting the system for current and next-generation spacecraft.
I carried the project from initial requirements and concept development through engineering analysis, mechanical design, technical review, and final design approval.
To understand and improve measurement performance, I developed a three-axis error budget that identified and quantified individual sources of center-of-gravity measurement error. I also performed statics and load analyses to verify that the GSE could safely support full spacecraft loads while meeting measurement requirements.
Using SolidWorks, I designed custom CNC-machined GSE components intended to improve system tolerancing and reduce positional error.
I independently evaluated and selected load cells based on engineering requirements including capacity, accuracy, resolution, and safety factor. I subsequently adapted the GSE design and supporting analysis for Elveo's larger next-generation spacecraft.
Throughout development, I scheduled and led six cross-functional engineering design reviews, presenting the evolving design for technical critique and incorporating feedback from Elveo engineers into subsequent iterations.
I also authored step-by-step operating and testing procedures documenting the measurement methodology and use of the equipment.
At the conclusion of the internship, I presented the complete system to Elveo's mechanical and operations engineering teams and delivered the approved design, measurement methodology, and supporting documentation for implementation.
